Nicole Cassandra Smit is an Edinburgh-based singer-songwriter.
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia but raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Nicole draws on her unique heritage and life experience by blending together a wide variety of influences including blues, soul, R&B, and pop of all flavours.
She first made her name in the Scottish live scene through sell-out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe and Jazz & Blues Festival, fronting acts including Nicole & The Back-Up Crew and lo-fi trio Smitten.
Her debut solo album Third in Line (2022, Liljekonvalj Records) is a deeply personal record weaving together soul and blues with experimental electronica influences.
For her latest release with Rhythm and Booze Records, she revisits her lo-fi roots with a deeply personal collection of songs celebrating her heritage and family.
